CAR
?Pyotr Kochetkov (8-7-3, 2.65 GAA, .898 Sv%) will start for the Hurricanes
?Former Leaf Michael Bunting will play against Toronto for the first time this season. Bunting has 24 points in 35 games which translates to a 56 point pace

TOR
?Martin Jones (4-2-0, 2.85 GAA, .914 Sv%) will start for the Leafs
?Toronto has 3 healthy players in the press box, so it's possible we see a line-up change or two on this back to back besides the goalie change but that's unconfirmed until likely the morning skate

Gotta start somewhere I guess. Doubt it'll apply to the top 4. If it did Willy would be sitting after last night.

Sitting out Kampf - that oughta show 'em!

I don't really remember him doing anything obviously bad last night. What am I not remembering?

Giveaway in the CBJ zone that lead to the Fantilli goal

As I mentioned in another thread too, Kampf simply hasn't been very good this season. Even ignoring the Reaves-impacted games. Certainly not the biggest problem on the team right now but a kick in the pants might be good for him.

Oh, I see - ?less tolerance for defensive mistakes going forward" really means, "less tolerance for defensive mistakes by the bottom 6 (or bottom 3) going forward." Makes perfect sense.

Edit to add - just went back and watched that sequence again. Kampf attempted a pass to McMann (I think) in front of the net and it was intercepted. Calling that "forcing" a play is kind of a stretch and on top of that, the play lead to a 2 on 3 where Kampf was one of the 3 who got back. Samsonov completely muffed the shot but sure, sit out Kampf. Sounds like a stretch to me.

You're right, he hasn't been very good. But he's been playing with Reaves, McMann, Gregor...Gregor has his moments and I do kind of like McMann but that's not exactly setting Kampf up for success.

It's not. Bourne mentioned it on the broadcast...it's called puck management with the lead in the 3rd period in the oppositions zone. A 3th kine guy needs to eat time and not make a play that can result in a turnover. Kampf hasn't been Kampf this season and like I,said, if thus is going to be the norm, he has to start somewhere and Kampf is a Keefe fav. This is not an  insignificant scratch.

Well, let's hope it has the desired effect. I see it differently.

The line change that was also mentioned might have been a bigger mistake than that play though. It was a terrible change that led directly to a goal. The other one was a harmless play that led to a (oh my) 2 on 3 rush that should not have amounted to anything.

Nylander took a penalty 180 feet from his net that CBJ scored on, and was a minus 3 on the night.  If you want to start making people accountable, start with your stars who should be an example for the rest of the team.

Sit Nylander if you want to send a message.

What a joke.

Said that last night I was actually going to post Gaudreau was going to win it but refrained from posting. Anyway back to Nylander and he's not the only one and it's happened in OT a lot. If you can watch the highlights of last night stop it with 3:37 left in the OT. Reilly is back out of the picture. Chinakov is on the far wing. Fantilli after passing it to him is basically at the blue line even with Willy and it ends up being a 2 on 1 and lucky it didn't end there. Simpson the dumb** says good back pressure by Willy. Really. FFS if he starts skating instead of coasting it's not a 2 on 1. Can you not read the play. Morgan has Chinakov so you take Fantilli. That crap to me is unacceptable and don't tell me he was tired. Kind of stuff where they should be held accountable.

Not going to happen with Keefe we saw how that went last year.

Nothing just Keefe's way of showing that he's holding SOME accountable. Everyone should be in the same boat but unfortunately not the case.

I was just about to say the same thing. Accountability?sure.

If I were Keefe I?d be embarrassed
You'd be embarrassed to be the Leafs head coach? Well that's different. Let's see how this all plays out.
