Huge CFL thread

Probably not too many CFL fans here, and I'm certainly not a big fan myself, but as a bona fide season ticket holder of the Ti-Cats (for political reasons), I was watching with interest Manziel's debut with the Als last weekend.

Wow.  I'm not sure it could have went worse.

And Hamilton sold a ton of Manziel merchandise, only to never start him, then trade him 6 games into the season.  I have to think that they just didn't see a CFL future with him at all, or else they would have moved Masoli instead for sure.

I think they may of seen potential from Manziel but Masoli started the season on fire and has yet to slow down. Hard to trade him.

Manziel has talent. The mental side of the game might hold him back.

Hamilton had Masoli playing great, Montreal had a dire need for, pretty much anything. Montreal gave up a ton for Manziel, that's the main reason Hamilton makes the trade. Not because of any foreseen deficiencies in Manziel's game.

As for Manziel's debut with Montreal, I'm looking forward to his next start.

                          Calgary Stampeders

Sunday Novermber 25th, 2018.
Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton, AB.
Kickoff 6pm ET.  Live on TSN.

The Calgary Stampeders won the 106th edition of Canada's football Champions, The Grey Cup, on Sunday with a convincing 27-16 win over the Ottawa Redblacks.

Calgary QB Bo Levi-Mitchell was named MVP.

Half-time show featured Brampton's Alessia Cara.

The field at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium made for a slippery slope for the participants who endured everything from fumbles and tumbles, to interceptions and murky receptions, moreso for the Redblacks who couldn't quite hang on to anything resembling the rubber.  The Stampeders led by Mitchell found their niche and seemed much better prepared.

Congrats Calgary!

It's not often that this happens in a Grey Cup Championship.  In fact it's the first time ever that someone ran on a 97 yard punt return for a touchdown.  That someone was...

Just read that the players will not go into training camp without a new CBA.  Do I hear the death knell of the CFL????  Man, I was a a huge fan back in the day, now I can't watch what I deam to be very poor quality most of the time.

Ive been to a hand full of games in the last couple years and I've enjoyed every one. The Grey Cup in Ottawa was particularly fun in the snow!

Winnipeg reigns supreme as they defeat Hamilton 33-12 in the 107th edition of the CFL Grey Cup Championship hosted by the city of Calgary.

The Tabbies were no match for the Blue Bombers.  Even though the Ti-Cats owned the league?s best offence, they couldn?t get much by an array of Winnipeg defence with six sacks to boot.  Hamilton committed several turnovers at which point one became crucial to the game?s outcome in the latter stages of the fourth quarter.  As it is said, every little bit counts in a Championship game and this was so for both teams.

Hamilton was without the league?s top receiver Brandon Banks who left the game early due to injury.  As if that wasn?t already enough trouble for the Tabbies...

Keith Urban entertained at the half-time show.

The Blue Bombers Andrew Harris was chosen as both MVP and Most Outstanding Canadian.  It is only the second time in CFL history that a player has won both titles.

It was Winnipeg?s first Grey Cup in 29 years and boisterous Blue Bomber fans celebrated with plenty of revelry.

Congratulations, Winnipeg!

excellent half time show with Keith Urban, why doesn't the NFL follow suite instead of all the hip hop stuff every year...check out your fanbase guys.
Great win for the Bombers, dominated play.

That was an absolute thumping by Winnipeg.  Hamilton should really have had a better showing given the season they had.

I was pumped for this game. What a disappointment that was. Jeez Hamilton.
