Gallagher Extended for 6 x 6.5

There was literally a report yesterday that said that contract talks here had halted haha.

Anyway, this seems like a pretty fair contract for Gallagher. He's a very good player. I guess the worry is how his body will hold up but probably not a big enough risk to let him walk as a UFA next year.

Price and Weber aren't getting any younger so they need to take a run at it now. Gallagher has been underpaid for a long time. You're right though, the way he plays is a concern. I would love him as a Leaf.

Yeah the talks broke off because they reached a deal

Is this a realistic comparable for what Hyman is going to be looking for?

Nah, Gallagher's on a different level:

Wow. Unexpected stats. Whenever I watched him play, he seemed like he was always hobbled by an injury.

That said, if Hyman scores at the same clip he did last year who the heck knows what he'll be looking for financially.

As a lifelong Habs hater, I can only hope this deal goes horribly wrong for them.  Although Gallagher seems like an ok guy.

He'd be a legit superstar if he was just able to produce on the powerplay. Like the tweet says, 5th in 5-on-5 goals over the past 3 years but T-106th in powerplay goals.

The habs badly need players that can score goals. They just haven't had them which really hurts their PP

Play him at 3RW this season to tank his stats.

I was thinking it would be worthwhile to experiment with Hyman as a shutdown 3C

I don't see the Leafs giving him over 3.5 if he's still here. I think Dubas may try to sign him during the season instead of waiting to year's end.
