EPL - 2023-2024

Hey Arn

That was quite the win by Newcastle today.

Some season they?re having. Currently down 8 starting players but still grinding out wins against the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal.

I fear the bubble will eventually burst, but it?s amazing what good coaching can do. A lot of the players performing now were absolute duds under the previous coach.

I thought that Joelinton was going to get the goal called back at first, but then on the replay I think he was just following through, or bracing himself.  Gordon did a good job there.

I kinda feel that Man U and Everton might start going through what Newcastle is coming out of.  Ineffective ownership that causes a rudderless club.  It looks like Newcastle has a plan now.

Also I watched the Tottenham and Chelsea game today.  Too bad Tottenham took the two reds.  I was hoping for a bit of a better game.  Even with the two reds though, it looked like Tottenham might pull it out, especially near the end of the game when Son just couldn't get the shot he wanted away.

The Spurs v Chelsea game was mad, massively entertaining, possibly as much because of as in spite of the red cards.

Really like Spurs coach and his way of playing.

Sad that Kane didn't stay.  Would have been interesting to see if he could've chased Shearer.  I get he wanted to chase trophies, but with the way Tottenham is playing this year, if you drop in Kane with Madison controlling things through the middle, that could have been a special team.

Dont suppose any of you care about/have even heard of League One Leyton Orient?

Harry Kane scored his first ever professional goal playing for us...amd had his first red card in a different game.

A player from my favourite team spent a season or so there - Paul Smyth. I actually took a game in when he was there. Was fun.

If anyone with an Athletic subscription wants to read about my team:

A 4-0 loss to that lot was pretty hard to take. Especially as my cousin's son who grew up a fan of Linfield is in the Glentoran squad and I get to spend Christmas Day with him
