BOS
?Jeremy Swayman (8-1-2, 2.17 GAA, .930 Sv%) will likely start for the Bruins
?The Bruins looked like they were running away from the rest of the league again but had their first stumbling block last week with 3 straight losses before beating San Jose 3-0 in their last game

TOR
?Joseph Woll (8-5-0, 2.74 GAA, .917 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?A Leafs regulation win, as rare as they've been, would put Toronto just 4 points behind Boston while also having 1 game in hand still

I get the concept of wanting some retribution for Liljegren in this game but I really hope they don't dress Reaves in this one.  We need a 4th line that can contribute.

Ugh. Also, Samsonov's sick so Jones has been called up to serve as back up.

I?m sure Marchand will fight him.

Or maybe one of their 4th line guys will.

Hopefully if he does instigate something he does or really early on and he gets a game misconduct immediately improving our lineup.

I?ll bet all the money I have that nothing happens.

Another bubble hattie would be swell

McMann...5:44 TOI...3 SOG, 1 Hit, 2 Pims, -2. Not a good outing defensively. I'd still put him in over Reaves tho.

I'm a big McMann guy, but yeah I don't necessarily think he's been anything much over just a replacement level player (which is still miles ahead of what Reaves has provided this season). Flip side is it's tough to really make an impact with those minutes, flip-flip side is Keefe might never be fully comfortable giving him more minutes.

So I do think that's a roster spot that Treliving will likely need to upgrade at some point. Either a signing like Puljujarvi, who I keep maintaining could make a really good pairing with Kampf, or trading for a legitimately good 4th line penalty killer (like the one Treliving already traded away).

I don't think McMann or a Steeves is a 4th line guy though. I mean if they could get Puljujarvi for minimum type deal, do it.

Simple mathematical fact, Leafs win when McMann is in the game. And lose almost every game that Reeves plays.  We are paying for a massive frik up by Treebeard.

Still don't understand when the"surprise of training camp"(Kokkonen)is still on the Marlies. At some point we have to graduate some of our D men to the majors. Lily doesn't count as he was brought up years ago and been back and forth several times.

That's still a bottom-6 that wouldn't have provided enough offence/time on attack, largely because of one individual there. I like our current set-up just fine for the most part. Keefe not trusting guys like Robertson or McMann even if they're playing well-to-fine could mean that upgrades at those specific spots could be necessary later in the season.

I haven't watched a second of Marlies hockey this year, but Kokkonen isn't exactly lighting it up on the Marlies.

Not much news on Neimela either

Saw him play last week. Looks good moving the puck...got caught a few times but he's pretty decent. Still lots to learn.

Reaves in to deal with Marchand.
Won't happen and I don't want him on the ice when Ratboy is. He needs to create havoc and hit everything in sight.

Remember when the Leafs would rush every prospect onto the team. With Neimela it is almost like an afterthought, he is going to get at least one probably 2 year on the Marlie's and even then he will have to be ready, not at the demands of a short sighted head office. We use to ruin most of our prospects.
