Well Dubas said they made their offer but Vegas wasn't going to be denied I guess. There had to be another team that made an offer because clearly St Louis was out, so why did Vegas have to go to 8.8?Bender said:Anyone who thought we were in on this just wasn't thinking clearly.
People's numbers are all over the place. CapFriendly has Vegas at 88.4 mill. I agree, teams should absolutely try and fleece Vegas here. Whitecloud for a 5th for us. That'll save them 750K lol.herman said:https://twitter.com/capfriendly/status/1315431889679921155
All other GMs better refuse to trade anything or anyone unless they?re getting something legit and handsome.
The way he phrased it made it seem like he'd have to take a hometown discount to make it work.Guilt Trip said:Well Dubas said they made their offer but Vegas wasn't going to be denied I guess. Nik said:Getting someone to actually sign the deal seems like a pretty good reason to increase your offer.
Yup. I don't see the rush. There was no mention of anyone else.herman said:Nik said:Getting someone to actually sign the deal seems like a pretty good reason to increase your offer.
Not sure what the rush was, especially because they had to sell Schmidt up the creek at a significant loss as a result.

Because in these situations it's one owner changing his mind and a 15 minute phone call and a deal can be signed elsewhere. If you can get pen to paper on the most sought after defenseman on the market I think most GMs probably wouldn't want to just sit around and hope things slide your way.
What is a "pen" and what is a "paper"?Bullfrog said:Nik said:herman said:Not sure what the rush was, especially because they had to sell Schmidt up the creek at a significant loss as a result.
