Nice. I expected a PTO and/or NHL deal with a bonus to get him through waivers. This is basically a PTO with a guarantee of a job afterwards. I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't playing NHL games somewhere this season. But even still worst case he should be a massive part of the the Marlies.

All the goals from Nylander's 8 goals in 13 games stretch with Columbus last season. Crazy how he's able to just beat a goalie on a clean shot in a bunch of them. But what also stuck out is half of them came by just being in and around the front of the net and making good plays in that area of the ice.

We just got a player selected 8th overall for zip. Good signing and he will play for the Leafs.

Obviously, I wonder if they can leverage a Nylander/Nylander line, freeing up some depth for the rest of the lineup.
The Leafs don't really "need" to make any moves to shore up other areas of the roster. I wonder if the Leafs will make a move to address the lack of draft picks in the 2025 draft.

I guess Berube could go whole hog and centre that line with Domi, but they might be swimming in their own end for most of the game, which is a huge waste of Willy.
I don't expect A. Nylander to be an NHL factor until the Cowan experiment reaches some decision point.
I think the 2025 draft pick situation gets bolstered when we cap dump some of our bottom-6, or a trade appears for Robertson/Marner.
