No a Joke!

Sadly, there are some people who really feel the way you joked about. It?s sad that peiple are actually upset about something being put in place to protect the players that will have no impact on the game itself or the viewing experience.

and a former Leaf to boot

Brad Treliving was the assistant GM of the Coyotes when Sullivan signed a 1-year contract there way, way back in the 2012/13 season. Also on that team: obviously a 35-year old Shane Doan and a 21-year old Oliver Ekman-Larsson.

I hope this is for the best for Lisowsky
I was hoping he'd get an AHL deal ..
(based in part on his wonderful reaction to not getting a NHL deal - loved his attitude)

He's still junior eligible, so he probably isn't able to sign an AHL deal. Might have to wait for next summer for that.

He would have almost certainly been stuck in the ECHL for most of the season had he went pro. I think going back to the WHL for an overage season, especially after not even cracking the WHL top-20 in scoring last season, is probably better for his development right now than that. Saskatoon will be losing their top-2 leading scorers from last seaon (Brandon was 3rd) so they will be a big opportunity for him to step up and lead the team.

He's 20 so he can play in the AHL. The plan was for him to go back to the WHL and he'll sign after the season.

That's a good observation. He would be in tough getting ice time with the Marlies. I'm not sure how good the Marlies will be but there's no way they're a bad team. He'd by trying to beat out vets - most who have a size and experience advantage.

He's a long shot but I'm pulling for that great attitude to get some reward.

Lisowsky fills the same ecological niche as Hirvonen, Steeves, Voit, Abruzzese, Mastrosimone, to say nothing of small and buzzy RWs (Tverberg, Kressler, Solow) and the larger winger options (Grebyonkin, Blandisi, Nylander, Barbolini, Stevens) littered throughout the lineup.

4-1 victory for Akhtyamov (37 for 38)

Alex saw Willy pot two last night and said he could do it too.

Hirvonen scores again, which is great to see after last year?s horrible circumstances.
