2017-1018 NFL Thread

I enjoyed watching K.C. stomp on the Patriots!  ;D
New England's D didn't look good at all, they need to make some adjustments on that side of the ball.
The news for the Chiefs wasn't all good though, Eric Berry ruptured his Achilles and is gone for the season. Big blow to their secondary!

As for my Bills its looking like same old, with some hope for the future with all the draft picks they are stockpiling. New regime really cleaning house on the Ryan/Whaley mess though, shipping out guys that were drafted high just because they don't fit the current scheme or culture.
Expectations tempered as a result this season, hoping for 5-6 wins...playoff drought will continue.

Has anybody tried out DAZN for streaming games?

I was going to but I read about the technical issues they had on Thursday so I figured I'd wait and see what people said about how they handled the traffic of a Sunday before I did.

So first weekend certainly had some issues. I'll wait and see how they go forward to fix those.

Didn't know where to put this but since it's American football, I placed it here:

It took seven, count 'em, seven OTs with the winner emerging in the form of  Michigan defeating Buffalo 71-68.  A game that began in the early afternoon and finished in the late evening. Only the fourth time that a college football game has gone to seven OTs.  It was also the highest-scoring on record for a college game, beating the previous high score of 76-61 set in 2016.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers suffered a broken collarbone in Green Bay's 23-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings Sunday.  Rodgers was the recipient of what appeared to be an illegal hit, as Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy put it, courtesy of the Vilings' Anthony Barr who meted out the punishment.  No penalty was given on the play.

Rodgers is slated to undergo surgery and some say he could be done for the season, though according to Packers coach McCarthy, Rodgers could miss "a significant time."

In what is a terrible shock, it turns out members of a largely black workforce don't like being referred to as "inmates" in an almost entirely white ownership meeting:

NFL playoffs are continuing for the race to the Super Bowl (Feb.4th in Minneapolis).

With both the  Buffalo Bills (AFC) & the New Orleans Saints (NFC) eliminated in the Wild Card game -- the former by the Jacksonville Jaguars and the latter by the Philadelphia Eagles -- the stage was now all set for the Divisional playoffs in earnest.

On Saturday, the NFC Divisional playoff round featured the Philadelphia Eagles 15-10 winners over the Atlanta Falsons, and the New England Patriots overwhelming the Tenessee Titans 35-14.

Sunday's AFC Divisional playoff round had the Jacksonville Jaguars edging the Pittsburgh Steelers 45-42, and the NFC's Minnesota Vikings outlasting  the New Orleans Saints 29-24.

Not even a supposed cut hand could prevent Quarterback Tom Brady from leading his New England Patriots to a 24-20 comeback win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, in the AFC Champioship Sunday at Gilette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.

Brady, who partially cut his hand in oractice, showed no ill effects as he led the Patriiots, completing 26/38 & 290 yards and two touchdowns, in leading his Patriots to Super Bowl LII against the Philadelphia Eagles.

This will be Terrific Tom's eighth Super Bowl appearance along with his coach Bill Belichick, in which they've won five times.

In the NFC Championship at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA,  Sunday,  Eagles Quarterback Nick Foles led his Philadelphia Eagles to a stunning 38-7 victory over the Minnesota Vikings.

Foles, who had taken over during the season from starter Carson Wentz, was 26/33 on 352 yards and three touchdowns.

The Eagles will now meet the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.

I've been an Eagles fan since the days of Ron Jaworski when they went and lost the SuperBowl to the Oakland Raiders.  Hope 3rd time is the charm.

They probably have a chance but only if they can contain Tom Brady.  He is a one-man show when it counts the most and with the minutes ticking.  The fact that Philly QB Nick Toles singlehandedly tore apart the stingiest defence in league, the Minnesota Vikings,  in leading his team here, tells a few tales.  I wouldn't be surprised if this becomes a QB competition between Brady & Toles.

As far as the everyone knows, the Eagles aren't being considered to defeat the Patriots.  And for good reason.  We've seen Brady at work and the magic he can create, being among the best QB in history.

I don't mean to sound bleak, but if the Eagles do things right, they might have a chance to win it.  Never know, anything can happen in a game, especially when the stakes are high.

Will the Eagles' QB Nick Toles attempt a repeat performance such as the way he dismantled the Vikings in the NFC Championship game?

Will Tom Brady add to his Super Bowl repertoire by making NFL history?

A battle of the quarterbacks it is.  I'm counting on Brady winning even in the  last-minute.  It has been his specialty through and through to pull the magic out of a hat, so to speak, and usually a great & experienced  quarterback almost always prevails.  Unless...

Going to a friends place for a SuperBowl party.  Been an Eagles fan since like 1980, so I'm hoping they can pull this off. Luckily the party will be full of Eagles fans, since the friends I'm going to are originally from Philly :)
