ECF: (A3) Montreal vs. (M2) New York

Best part of that was the guy in the stands who chucks a beer at Moore and hits the usher.  8)

The 2014 Toronto Blue Jays Thread

It's a bit unnerving they have to score as many runs as they have to win in this series so far, but I will give it a pass since it's TB, who always have had the Jays number in the past. If it takes 9 to beat them, so be it.  But that needs to change going forward. Giving up 5 or 6 a game won't...

You think he can get more though? Given Komarov has one shortened NHL season under his belt, it's not the same as Cal, who had 4 or 5 at the time he got the contract.

Cal Clutterbuck = 4 yr, $2.75 mil AAV on a deal that starts at $2 mil and goes to $3.5 mil in the 4th year.  Started last season. He's the closest comparable out there to Komarov.  I would offer Leo the exact same deal.

They sent him down to get him stretching out and will bring him back up as a starter.. that's what I had heard.  That's what Buck & Pat have been babbling about every game for a week now. GET ER DUUN THEN!

Wasn't he playing there quite a bit last season?

McKegg.  I think he needs another year of AHL though. Komarov is my hope.  A 4th line of D'Amigo/Komarov/Ashton has good potential.

Maybe but based on my quick glance he doesn't look like a guy they would be shopping.. or maybe I'm missing something.  Any of those 3 would be an improvement on Happ or the ??? #5 starter. I'm really not a fan of this attempt to bring Stroman in as a SP after they stretch him out.  Stop...

Could be lots of mid-level veteran SP's available soon with a number of teams quickly falling out of the mix already, including teams who normally wouldn't be in such a position.  I doubt TB or Bos would help the Jays with a SP but Texas, Philli, Cubs, DB's or Padres might.  edit: I can't...

Encouraging signs. I really like what Seitzer has done with the hitters. Their pitch selection is dramatically better.  Using Gose the way they have been is a perfect way to get offense out of him. His defensive range is just crazy and a huge advantage and will only help the pitchers. The AL...

Draft Pick Watch - WE PICKED NYLANDER!!1!!

Bro I used to, actually.  SO THERE! >:(  I did read it - twice - and I still come away with the a tone that suggests this is a better way to draft than using scouts... or I'm hearing in the back of my head a number of very loud idiots on twitter who would take that article and spout that...

Draft Pick Watch - WE PICKED NYLANDER!!1!!

Hey Bill, take a chill pill... wasn't directing it at you. Was facepalming the end of that article. The conclusion section pretty much points to the idea you don't need a scouting staff.. just use 3 stat columns and you are golden.  Like I said, the Canucks are a very good example of bad...

Draft Pick Watch - WE PICKED NYLANDER!!1!!

*facepalm*  Is this another attempt for the numbers army to say they can do a better job than people who have been in the sport their entire lives? Most of those Canucks drafts were indeed very miserable ones. I mean they got 10 NHL players in 12 drafts (I'm not counting the last 2)??!! I...

Ha! But in fairness I think taking the pick away from the Bucks is a fair and just decision. Poor kid whoever goes there.

    Carlyle Extended/Randy's Revenge

I think LK is suggesting they are sandbagging RC by giving him an AHL coaching staff. I hope they bring in an Oates type, very similar to how Quenneville was hired as a "consultant" for the Hawks while Savard was still coaching.
