I completely agree now Crosby looks like a very good "hometown" contract, Kessel's looks great and JVR's is amazing. Not that Kessel and JVR are the same as Toews and Kane but the deals sure look great.

I think Bodie for the same price wouldn't be a bad checking 4th line option. Dominic Moore is available again, supposedly only looking for 1-65-1.8 per year wouldn't be a bad 3rd liner either. 

I'd much rather see Granberg over Franson, Franson is brutal and not worth what he thinks he is....of course we could just change the name to the Toronto McDavids...

Isn't the rumor floating around that the Leafs offered Gardiner, Kadri and the #8 and that wasn't enough? I love Ekblad but that deal sucks and adding to it makes it even worse....that being said I'd still stay in contact to see what it would take and it wasn't outrageous look at a deal.

Living in Calgary let me tell you if there was 1 game to win for me this was the one. Nothing like listening to Flames fans and their annoying crap.  :)

I'm going to have to go with McClement. He seemed like a different player last year. Good on the penalty kill, good on face-offs, chipped in a few goals wasn't a huge liability on the ice....still good on face-offs but I don't think it makes up for the rest.  

If you think about it what success has Randy had at the pro level? He won a Stanley Cup...as long as we find ourselves with Niedermeyer, Pronger, Getzlaf, Perry and Selanne next year he can win one here as well...

Hemsky is incredibly talented and incredibly injury prone...I hope they greatly overpaid LOL

I don't necessarily think he will be either but if anyone could screw that up it will be Gillis...
