    Game 45: Leafs @ sens - Apr. 20, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

In terms of not generating shots, when the Leafs smell blood they don't bother with the low % crap. Well done...freaking excited about some playoff hockey. In other news: I cannot handle Bob Cole at all. The guy has no idea who has the puck, just uses the team name to call the play.  With...

All aboard the band wagon... were playoff bound.

Cool. You insulted Stones AND Leaf fans in one blow. 3/4 of the population of Vancouver is out to get you.

    Joffrey Lupul

Well, he's clearly POed about something. Hopefully just the loss.

    Goaltending conundrum v3.0-Reimer or Bernier?

Yes. I think it's safe to say that's the reason the leafs were talking to kipper...not to replace Reimer, but as his backup in case of injury. The media was big on asking how he felt about it all. He was probably thinking, "ask Scrivens"

    Leafs and the Shootout

I wonder what the initial pressure was to have shootout tiebreakers.  Was the league trying to secure a deal with Espn?

    Game 40: Leafs @ Rangers - Apr. 10, 7:00PM - TSN, TSN 1050

Wondering how much longer the game would be if they just tacked on an extra five minutes of OT? The time it takes to get the shootout over with they could have played some hockey instead. Can't even complain about how much I deplore shootouts when the Leafs are suffering with them. It just...

    Joffrey Lupul

I realize that much. Just sayin' he's cut from that old school mold. He was talking about himself being concussed and playing the next game. Not a knock against him. I have no gripes with RC.

    Joffrey Lupul

Carlyle reminds me of my old coach. When I slammed my head against the boards in practise once, everything went white and fizzy. When I was laying on the ice he asked, "Do you know where you are?" I answered, "Here" in a scared shaky voice. I didn't have a clue where I was. He shouted, "He's...

    Standings- position

I am also in the camp that the Leafs aren't an automatic first round exit (presumably because they have been out of it for so long it's a given) If they go in hot and healthy they could certainly do some damage. My biggest concern going in is that they struggled to put 60 minutes in a night...

    Joffrey Lupul

Seems he's going to out for awhile. No point rushing him back either if he's still dizzy. Leafs are going to need a healthy Lupul come playoffs. How's that for stating the obvious. I could be a colour guy on TV.

    Standings- position

It does. Having a healthy Lupul could make a big difference in that eventuality.

    Joffrey Lupul

I just realized a lot of my confidence in this team rides on Lupul's shoulders. I don't even care about the score in that game.

    Game 37: Flyers @ Leafs, 7:00PM EST April 4th, 2013 - Snet-Ont, CSN - PH

Ahoy, mateys! Do any of you scurvey dogs know if SNO has an on demand feature where you can watch the game afterwards? I have to sail the seven seas until midnight. AAARGH!

    Goaltending conundrum v3.0-Reimer or Bernier?

It's been over 20 years since I read The Game by Ken Dryden, but in his book he talks about his start in the NHL. He was a rookie who started at the beginning of the playoffs and his experience was that it was easier for him to start in the post season. He said that the team was more...

    General Leafs Talk

As someone who strongly disliked Burke because of his bluster and ego, I will eat crow on that and say that the team has improved and he certainly did have a positive impact. That being said, I'm very happy he did what he did, and now the reigns are in Nonis' hands.

    Leafs talking to Kiprusoff's agent

Still, I think the leafs go with Reimer in the post season, and Kiprusoff as a backup. In a way, that scenario shows a lot of faith in Reimer and a realistic position with Scrivens. With leafs being hot lately and post season coming fast, they have to look at the possibility of winning a...

    Leafs talking to Kiprusoff's agent

I suspect Nonis is looking for a backup in the event the leafs get hot in the playoffs. Reimer isn't an iron man, and may not last past two rounds of goalie crashing. I like Scrivens, but in the case of the leafs getting deep, he's not the guy right now. If he wanted a number one in kipper he...

    James van Riemsdyk

Nice to see RC getting JVR some pp time with top forwards late in the game against the sens, to try to get him going, as opposed to benching him. The coaching staff are using more positive reinforcement these days.
