    Pridham and Clancey let go

I’m having trouble pointing out a creative contract that was advantageous to the Leafs that was for an above average player. Most of the creativity was for eking out lots of up front value for the Leafs stars without much if any commensurate scaling down of cap hit; unless Nylander was looking...

    Leafs part ways with Berube

Well, which organization has a lot of money and recently turned over the reins to relatively inexperienced but collaborative managers who want to build up a program?

2026-27 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion | Official: Sundin & Chayka to lead front office

If that was the actual plan, they wouldn’t have merely landed 5th last by the hair of their chinny chin chins. Knies would’ve been shut down earlier. Nylander would’ve had a more ‘severe’ groin injury. Literally bad at winning and bad at tanking, but great at not having the puck.

2026-27 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion | Official: Sundin & Chayka to lead front office

Really interesting observation about this year’s playoff group being young, fast, and fun, but potentially an anomaly precipitated by the condensed Olympic schedule that crushed older teams with lots of Olympic entrants. At the same time, the front office has the schedule in front of them and...

If I recall correctly, he scored a goal immediately after incurring this injury, before he could get off the ice.

    NHL Draft 2026

If the Leafs pick up another mid-first, this is where I'm pointing that pick Bjorck is a half-year younger than Stenberg, plays centre, and is already holding his own against pro players. He's a smidge taller than Nick Robertson.

    2025-26 Marlies Thread

I thought so too, but I guess they really wanted the L-R pairings Danford was on the ice for the tying goal (Rifai) and the go-ahead goal (Nylander) and was awarded the game belt. The Marlies have that chummy team feel right now. The latest MLHS podcast had a pretty good argument for giving...

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

The improvement plan is to convert a surplus of scoring/attractive forwards into mobile two-way defensemen at the beginning of their development curves to enable the high end scoring talent (that we already have) to get the puck in offensive opportunities more frequently and catalyze depth...

    Armchair GM Thread 2025/26

Knies to Rinzel is more of a lateral move that opens up cap space, adds some real juice to the defense corps, and the prospect pipeline. If that’s indeed what CHI will overpay for Knies.
