If sending Cowan down was the plan, why would they burn the 10 games and 1 year of ELC ? He has yet to earn Berube's trust, but we saw him on last minute of a game when the Leafs were trying to tie. anyway, hope they show up, they usually don't against the Coyotes/hockey Club/Mammoth Go Leafs...
