MLSE part ways with Masai Ujiri

Besides both men owning Toronto sports team, I don't see the connection.

    2025 Offseason Thread: Spring Cleaning

Marner with his NMC would have had to be moved the offseason before extensions would have been eligible for Knies and Tavares.

MLSE part ways with Masai Ujiri

I would assume this was mutually agreed upon. Masai probably wanted to move on to other challenges as much as Ed Rogers wanted him out. I don't think it's concerning Masai is out nor is it surprising. Other organizations have been courting Masai for at least the last 5 years. Also, I don't get...

MLSE part ways with Masai Ujiri

This has been coming for awhile. Masai will always be a legend here. Masai has been in here since 2013 and was entering the final year of his contract. Bobby Webster is the GM now and Masai was probably ready to move on to another opportunity. The more recent moves by the Raptors have been...

I'm hoping it's "The Bachelor" in style. Maybe Marner can hand out gold plated hockey sticks instead of roses.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

True, but take Knies off Toronto's first line and put him on Buffalo. What would his numbers look like? It's tough to compare in those wildly different scenarios. I will say this, taking guys from bad teams moving them into better situations and having them flourish seems like a thing.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

Peterka has a higher P60. Obviously Knies has the size. Gotta like what JJ was able to do on an inferior Buffalo team. I'd say it's close, definitely comparable.

I'll just say that last offseason Seravelli said there was a 5% chance that Marner would return to play for the Leafs and we saw how that proclamation turned out.

I think the fail is the Leafs could of had a top six of: Bunting - Matthews - Marner Hyman - Tavares - Nylander Just don't give Mrazek $3.8m and you probably have room to re-sign Hyman.

I definitely would be interested as a change of scenery guy but I wouldn't be overly hopeful.

The signs were there with Hyman. He was performing at a similar clip to Nylander, albeit with an injury history. He left for Edmonton with a bigger role and he stayed healthy. The rest is history.

    2025 Blue Jays

Yeah, with yesterday's game he's getting close to his career averages. He still needs a little more power. Vlad's stats are much better hitting out of the 3rd slot instead of batting 2nd in the order. Maybe keep him batting 3rd...

Yeah, Duchene's performance in the playoffs is abysmal. Wouldn't have been my first choice for the Leafs to sign.

    2025-26 General Trades & Signings

I'll be the first to point out Duchene had more points than Tavares this past season. Duchene is a few months younger than JT. JT should sign for 6-years/$4.75m with deferred money to bring the total contract total to $32m. How can you argue with that? Let's do it!!!
