Try to find a sign and trade for Marner with a string puckmoving D coming back. Let Tavares walk if he wants more than $5.5m. Go hard after Nelson, Ehlers, Duchene, Bennett, and Boeser. Remake the team with some depth.

As much as this team would miss Marner in the regular season, they need someone who doesn’t completely disappear when things tighten up deeper into a playoff series. I don’t care how many points he puts up in the first few games. He’s not helping his team win the most important ones.

It possible, but I still see those penalties as throwing them off so much that they were basically still in start of the game mode into the 2nd period. Illness could have definitely compounded that. I expect a better effort moving forward, for sure. Cannot overstate the importance of the game...

I wouldn’t say that. Any NHL calibre goalie would have looked good against them tonight. Bobrovsky was the 2nd best goalie on the ice, but behind the team that put in a way better effort.

All the early penalties threw the Leafs completely off their game and they made things too easy on Bobrovsky.
