    Canucks @ Leafs - Feb. 6th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

I have to admit that I'm watching a lot more of the games this year. In other years I'll usually flip back and forth between the Leafs and something else, or just have it on in the background, if at all. This year I'm actually watching and enjoying full games. I don't know if it's the Leafs...

He's not great in these games. Add in the whole Battle of the Blades/Jamie Sale thing and I'd really prefer not to listen to him

Bieksa has been a great find for them. I think he's getting better every year as he gets more comfortable and probably more leeway to talk about the things he wants to. I played centre my whole life and I wish I had seen something like this when I was 14.

Yeah that was a phenomenal break down of faceoffs. Exactly the kind of thing they should be having more of.

Didn't Trevor Linden leave because he thought they weren't ready yet and ownership was pushing for a rushed rebuild? Maybe they should have listened to him a little better

    Gretzky at 60

Longevity absolutely matters, but in Orr's case wasn't his knee problem something that can easily be fixed for the last 20 or 30 years now? If so it's hard to punish him for that when comparing him to more modern players. It's not like we're comparing Eric Lindros to Gordie Howe here.

Coaching and management changes around the league

Letang isn't the player he used to be, but neither is Yandle. One guy can still play top pair minutes on a good team, the other can barely crack a roster outside of his power play time. The athletic is now reporting it's more about personnel decisions in management rather than player moves. The...

Coaching and management changes around the league

I have Letang in my hockey pool so I know all about his troubles, but I don't see how this could have helped Pittsburgh at all. Between his NTC and teams limited cap space, who would the suitors even be? Boston maybe? Sending him to a division rival for futures isn't going to improve their...

    Jets @ Leafs - Jan. 18th, 7:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

It seems to me like teams that rely on skill over structure take a little longer to get going at the beginning of the season. That might help explain why teams like Toronto and Pittsburgh struggled in the playoff bubble last year while teams like Columbus and the Islanders started strong.

Dell and Spezza placed on waivers

Better than an Oiler or Senator at least

    Canadiens @ Leafs - Jan. 13th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

That's like saying other than blocking a few pucks directed his way Frederik Andersen didn't contribute anything

    2021 Training Camp Thread

Wasn't Keith Kinkaid on waivers too? Maybe Jersey tries to resurrect some of their previous work with him. I can't help but wonder if it might have been better to put Dell on waivers as soon as it was an option at the start of camp. He was obviously #3 and teams might not have known what they...

    2020-2021 NHL Thread

Wouldn't it be better in that case to have Gretzky for the west and somebody like Rocket Richard for the north? Dionne was great but is never among those listed as possible best ever players.

    Coronavirus

What do you think people in small communities are doing right now that people in Toronto are being forced to miss out on? Everybody is restricted in their social life. It's not like the residents of Port Dover are going to have a big Friday the 13th party by themselves and are just saying people...

    Coronavirus

Things are tense everywhere. Anti mask protestors going to Aylmer doesn't improve anybody's mental health. Nobody's getting rent breaks, and precarious finances have been a problem province wide through all this. If people in Toronto need to do something socially to reduce their stress they...

    Coronavirus

That's my biggest thing right now. If they refuse to shut things down at the very least restrict movement and travel. People from Toronto should not have been allowed to go to Aylmer last week. Everybody in Port Dover is begging bikers to stay away on Friday the 13th, but you know they're going...

Vancouver's being fully lock down for two weeks, Montreal has been locked down separate from Quebec before. What possible reasoning is there to not lock down the GTA at this point?

2020-2021 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I keep hearing about a possible taxi squad that won't count against the cap if there's no AHL season, but in order to get a player like Thornton or Spezza onto that squad and off the cap, wouldn't they still have to pass through waivers?

    Coronavirus

I know somebody who works at a drive test centre in a small town in southern Ontario doing license testing. This small town is two hours away from Toronto. She says that she spends almost all day, every day in cars from Toronto, Peel and York. They come in cars packed full with people first...

Somebody at the athletic said he would have been pushing top ten this year Edit: sorry that was in response to the Robertson question
