I think if the leafs had a young winger that could drive a second line, and be dynamite on zone entry in both 5-5 and the PP, it would have helped a fair bit.

It's awfully hard to look at this game and fault andersen for "losing" the shootout. Which is largely luck based regardless.

If they're going to do a quasi skills competition, I'd sooner see 3 on 3 for another 5 minutes and deal with a potential tie vs a shootout.

As much as I like Babs, Kadri and Komorov, I hope to see a younger look to the first 3 on 3 line.

Agreed. Although they've been badly outplayed, it'd be a shame to waste a goaltending performance like this in a regulation loss.

That's what my biased eye saw too, but they haven't shown the replay of the penalty so I can't formally voice my outrage.

My only misgiving was Nash is his injury history. In the last 4 seasons, he's missed 20-40 games in 3 of them. Age rarely helps in that regard.

Actually, having watched the replay, yeah, he swan dived after the crosscheck - which is a shame, because he'd really stopped his embellishing habit this season compared to last. Should have been coincidental minors as you mention.
