Reimer and ..i really liked Gardiner's game tonight

It's good he had so many weeks off before that game...otherwise he would have been exhausted after the first.

I'm by no means saying this represents how the leafs play overall.  Like as I was reminded earlier tonight the leafs did beat the redwings 4-1 earlier in the season.  Obviously the redwings turned in a great performance tonight and I agree they're probably one of the best teams in the league...

There were definitely some mitigating circumstances for the leafs in this one.  Like back to back nights, first game on the road in a while, their opponent hadn't played since sunday.  But they played awful.  Most of the time they couldn't even touch the puck.  If you played this game 10 times...

well this game has been one sided since the drop of the puck...but somehow..amazingly ..it's only 1-0 ...i thought after that first one went in they'd score another one or two almost immediately ..but they didn't ..the leafs know they should lose this game...the redwings know they should win...

it'll be a miracle if we get out of this first 0-0

The leafs could win every game and outshoot every opponent and I'd still spend time being antsy about them.

Then I guess it comes down to how I think this team compares to last years.  I don't know about you but I feel that this team is deeper than last years.  The secondary scoring may not be sustainable at the levels it's currently at but last year there wasn't any.  This made a lot of long nights...

i guess i'd have to go look at the stats in the cujo era...but i don't know..i remember the leafs being fairly consistently outshot then too..especially when they had the lead... i'm not saying this team is without flaws...i think it's a mediocre team...but the idea that it's a foregone...

I don't know how it will turn out..but i seem to remember relying on potvin...cujo..and belfour more often than not..
