i'd agree with that.  That I'm pretty sure it's Matthews but this does make the worlds more interesting and almost in an infinitely better way then we would have already been interested in the worlds when drafting second.  Like we're window shopping prospects.

i can see the argument why a team might not take matthews first...but not the leafs..how long have we gone without a true top line centre ..and now we have the potential to draft one and we're going to say no?  i don't think so.

also i'd argue that draft picks have gone up in perceived value in general since then.  prying first rounders off teams seems to get harder with each passing year regardless of the talent pool.
