Agreed on those two teams. What about Montreal?  If any team is in a win now situation it's Montreal.  They've got a top 10 pick that might not help when they need it. 

Agreed - for me it boils down to 2 factors For me to consider signing  Stamkos.  First, as you say, the Leafs need to stick with the rebuild plan - we need Stamkos on board with another bottom 5 finish or two.  There are ways to accomplish this even with Stamkos, Matthews, Marner et al joining...

Pre draft lottery, I was looking forward to Laine at number 2 when reading up on him.  He really impressed me at the WJC's.  He reminds me of a selanne/ovechkin lite.  Also the drafting of Laine, increased the chances of Stamkos, and adding 2 stars was a great improvement for our future top 6. ...

What a game.  It was a great atmosphere inside the ACC. This team has ECF (and more) aspirations, and in order to get there, they needed this to be a 5/6 game series instead of a tough 7 game series. The only benefit is that Miami went 7 as well.
