You know, I'm not entirely sure Gus wants to come back next year, even if the Leafs are interested in keeping him. What would you guys do should he not be interested in resigning? Reimer + Veteran? Reimer + Scrivens/Ryannas/Owuya? S/R/O + Veteran? Trade for a #1?

I think that this is just the same thing that they did with Gus. They gave Gus a bunch of games in a row to see what he has for next year, and now they're going to see what happens when Reimer gets a bunch of starts in a row.

This is where my head is right now. BB is going to make Eakins the coach for next year, but doesn't want to pull him out of the Marlies playoff run. He sees an AHL championship being more important for development than missing the NHL playoffs or getting bounced in 4 or 5 games.
