They often say the first game back home after a long road trip is a let down but that kind of effort on a Saturday nite against MTL after they cleaned our clocks does not come even close to cutting it.

Well I'm glad the teams put themselves back into a playoff fight but there's still some sorta baffling line-up decisions going on so hopefully a loss means Berube can finally move some things around. As others have said Cowan on the 2nd line (and PP1) isn't working. Domi on the top line isn't working enough. Robertson on the 4th line is a waste. Myers hasn't been bleeding goals against like he was earlier in the season but shot attempts are still 20-80 in the 4 games he's played since getting back in the line-up.

Tavares was 16 for 29 in the shootout with the Islanders, but now 0 for 7 as a Leaf. Options certainly feel a little limited after 34 and 88 but not sure why it wasn't someone like Cowan or Domi instead.

Robertson played 6:58 last night...they're obviously not showcasing him. I haven't seen anything eggregious in his game lately that would deserve that sort of number. Next after that was Lorentz at 9:21. I know they used Laughton more extensively.

Stecher played over 23 minutes for the fourth game in a row.

You can't have your top-2 lines going pointless, and a disaster of a PP (0/3 last night, third last in the whole league on the season), and expect to win many games. Thank goodness for Hildeby's .971 last night.

What Berube is doing with Robertson is ridiculous.
Stecher has been so solid and should stay in the lineup when Tanev/Carlo come back.
L1 was actually pretty decent last night and won their minutes. L2 got destroyed. 88/91 outshot 10-2 at 5v5.

As for the PP. I'll go back to the handling of Robertson. CTB nailed it. What a waste not having a guy with his shot first mentality not on PP1. The reluctance to move 91, 88 or 34 off PP1 is not an easy move because of their talent but you can't keep going with player that don't work.
