Well holy smokes.  I can only assume that it's health related but I certainly hope I'm wrong.  Goodbye Steve you are one HELL of a businessman.

Not really a huge shock - there have been rumours about him stepping down for months now - but, still a loss for Apple, for sure.
 
Jobs will still be an adviser to the company.  They'll need his input no matter what.  Apple can't go down again the way they did at one time before Jobs stepped in and reinvigorated the company to the status that it is now.  Steve Jobs is, was, and will always be called one of the greatest CEOs of all time. 

As a fan of their products, hope the company keeps an even keel.
