TB
?Jonas Johansson (5-1-3, 2.87 GAA, .916 Sv%) will likely start for the Lightning
?Johansson has had a season of highs and lows so far filling in for Andrei Vasilevskiy. In his 9 starts this season he's had 2 shutouts and 3 games below a .900 Sv%

TOR
?Ilya Samsonov (2-1-2, 3.56 GAA, .871 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?After 4 straight losses Keefe made some changes to the forward lines putting Knies on the top line and Domi at the 3C position for the first time this season
?Jake McCabe took part in his first practice on Monday after missing the past 4 games with an injury. Keefe said he'll likely be a game time decision to play

I hope he sticks

Might be worth flipping Nylander and Jarnkrok and turning the third line into sheltered scoring exclusively.

Who are those guys in the Leafs third pairing?

Lajoie, Lagesson, and Benoit are UFA depth defensemen signings from this past off-season.
They are not as good as Timmins, but Lagesson is a bit underrated. The other two are meh, but Benoit will hit stuff (to the detriment of his positioning).

I agree.  I think if they yo-yo Robertson, that could be a problem.

I find Bertuzzi on the Tavares LW soaks up puck touches from Nylander because of his tunnel vision. I know he's trying to contribute and build back his confidence, but on that line, you really have to be Banana #3 and just fetch the puck, and only push it to the slot or circles.

59-91-19 would still be annoying to play against, and all three of them are pretty good in sloppy spade-work situations. Then it would make some sense for Bertuzzi to carry in transition and build some game feel. Jarnkrok is the perfect passenger as he has no puck handling expectations and his linemates should just leverage his wicked shot and tee him up.

11-88-89 would be a rush line, where Domi's tendency to stand still once he touches the puck is not that bad if he can just give-and-go with his better linemates. Their shoot-first mentality will also complement Domi's playmaking. If Keefe is willing to let Domi play centre, why not just let Nylander do it with his superior offensive vision and OZ slot presence.

Tampa is spreading their talent across 3 lines and I don't see the current third line as constructed (with 89) doing much.

I hear what you?re saying, but, right now, it?s sort of an ?if it ain?t broke, don?t fix it? scenario with that line. Nylander and Tavares have both been producing so far, though Tavares has slowed down there. As long as that trio is contributing, it?s worth trying to focus on finding combos that work for the other lines.

Leafs haven't scored a 5-on-5 goal with the Tavares/Nyander duo on the ice in the past 5 games. Willy has one 5-on-5 point (zero goals) in that span, Tavares zero points.

The rule is we can't have all 4 of them producing at the same time T___T

Matthews and Marner each have 5 5-on-5 points in the last 5 games. The rest of the forwards combined have 5 (Jarnkrok 3, Willy 1, Kampf 1) and those 5 are all assists. If anything it's the 2nd line that could use the Knies boost right now. Although worth noting possession wise the top line is well below 50% with Jarnkrok so I guess everything is a bit of a mess right now.

Like the Robertson call up. Have no idea what they are doing with this kid. With some of the scrubs we have playing puzzles me how this kid isn't playing. As much as secondary scoring has been a problem it's the defence and goaltending that I'm worried about. They need to play a simpler more defensive minded game if they wanna win with this D until guys come back from injury or Treliving improves it.

That would also suggest McCabe isn't playing, which feels like the right call after only 1 practice with the team even if the defence really needs him back.

Sounds like Nick will be on a line with Domi and J?rnkrok.
