Spencer Abbott hasn't signed with the Maple Leafs. But word is he's close.

The star forward with the NCAA Maine Black Bears, who were eliminated by the University of Minnesota-Duluth this week, is being aggressively courted by a number of teams and is apparently leaning towards Toronto, although its not a done deal.

Hopefully this found money is more Bozak and less Christian Hanson/Brayden Irwin

Who's that D man that was Gardiner's blueline mate? I remember a while ago reading about a guy drafted by another team but he becomes a free agent on July 1 if not signed by that team..... was I dreaming that up? I can't find anything now.

The guy I just mentioned, Schultz...

He'll be 24 next month... and according to hockeydb he's 5'9 so that means he's really 5'7.

hockeydb doesn't seen to update that kind of stuff once it's been entered initially. According to his "official" bio, he's actually 5'10".

I hear McKenzie described Shultz as possibky the 3rd best UFA available this summer, If thats the case, I'd love to see the Leafs land him.

I think it was Mac that recently said he was likely heading to free agency too.

I'd keep him in the AHL until next season if they sign him. Try that approach for once over immediate first line / pp minutes and a fresh carcass for the media to chew up.
