So all reports are Leafs were asking for the sun and moon for Knies, which is great. I'd rather have a GM that wants other teams to over-pay rather than just making a trade for the sake of it. I'm not against trading Knies, but it better be a damn haul of players coming back.

Not sure where to mention this but Steve Paikin, big Leafs fan, is making a Bill Barilko documentary. He posted a video a couple days back on Facebook making a trek to the crash site where Barilko's plane went down. Mentioned the doc should be ready for the spring. Looking forward to this.

Yeah aside from Cowan and the goalies I know there aren't any potential big names, but hopefully 2-3 guys can turn into depth players on the cheap. Lord knows Leafs have been searching for that forever

That's the heavy rumour BUT so far the media has missed on everything until it's actually happened. In Chayka's presser today he mentioned they value being able to keep information internal and it gives them an advantage while doing their job. So that said, who knows if Rielly will actually get...

I get that, but in the Leafs reality, one of Stolarz/Woll would probably get hurt early so not a concern. I would have waited in the off chance that Stolarz started the season hot, and then trade him to a team that suddenly has goalie issues once the season is underway. Anyway, that ship has sailed.

Why couldn't they carry 3 goalies? Other teams have done it and the Leafs have cap room.
