This season might hurt because nobody is getting rushed.  But it won't be long before the play-making skills will keep the wingers fed.  Kessel was pretty good, but it won't be long before his talent is replaced.

This was the one move the Leafs made that had me wonder what exactly are the Leafs putting on the ice.  And to see line-ups being made earlier, don't think I'm the only one in that regard.

Maybe Brandon Sutter will be Kessel's new center?  He's somewhat qualified as he already plays short-handed minutes.  He can be the new Bozak.

With income coming from North America, perhaps they didn't see his entire financial picture?

Maybe it's a simple case of not giving him all the worst assignments?

Don't think Colby Armstrong was every playing at 100% while he was in Toronto.  He was a -9 during his tenure with the Leafs.  ...of course Kessel was a -40 during that time.

Pretty sure the teams Kessel was willing to accept a trade to knew of the Penguins offer and had a chance to step in and make a better deal.  Therefore, the offer was probably the best compensation you could get.  So the only thing remaining is, do you want to keep Phil Kessel on the team? ...

The Leafs could of done this in the `80's... but they rushed everyone.  Since then, they've probably have tried every other possible way to build a team.  This is my first glimmer of hope it'll actually result in something.

Interesting in what you say Bullfrog.  When out of work, I had no cable TV, didn't drive, etc.  Although I went without, sadly I saved more money then when working low-end jobs.  A speeding fine at some times of my life would of been crippling.  Now I just tell my wife to pay it, don't see any...

Speeding tickets is just another form of taxing people who work.

And combined, their +/- was the same as Winnik's.  Bozak was 9th in take-aways last season.  As much as Kessel might of propped Bozak's offence, Bozak was the defensive-conscious of that tandem.  So which Pittsburgh center is going to cover for Kessel?  They're pretty competitive so they'll do...

I wouldn't be disappointed to see JVR and Bozak go down the toilet without Kessel.  Sure it might hurt the trade value, but it would be awesome to get in some serious losing.  Hoping they don't play any of these young guys either... I want so-so vets in the line-up and get into a good position...
