I wonder is signing these older 3rd line type guys will push Holland out of the line up.  This guy was a center with size, young and still has potential of being a good 2nd liner.  I hope they still keep a spot for him, but it looks like a crowded forward ranks next year.

Well the fact he does get injured does matter.  That is the big reason we traded Carlo; he was always injured.

I don't think Franson will be resigned, or if he does it will be to a bad contract.  I think he needs to be dealt to shake up the blueline.  He has contributed to a bad blueline for years.

as much as it pains me to agree with Nik, that is the point I was trying to make.  Gunnarsson is the big minute defensive guy on a team that has been horrible defensively for years.  He has to been seen as part of the problem.  This is a good shake up move because Dion isn't going anywhere.

There aren't any UFA deals.  Remember how Burke tried to get Brad Richards but the contract was too expensive.  He was just bought out.  Same thing with Riberio.  I think bad UFA contracts are the norm not the exception.

But they contribute to the teams possession numbers from takeaways and giveaways.  If your looking for team dependant numbers it would be best to look at +/-.
