Gardiner was a rock and the only leafs defenceman capable of moving the puck up the ice. The other defenxemen have given it away constantly. Just a wacky number of unforced giveaways. We are very lucky to have the lead.

I think the criticism stems from the fact that Anderson was half in his own net. If he had played it correctly, Chara would have had nothing to shoot at from that angle (pretty much the goal line).
