Great job on the game day thread Carlton. One correction though. Josh Leivo is not on the Leafs roster right now. The only extra forward is Seth Griffith. p.s. I just noticed that you started the post yesterday morning before that would have been known..... but there it is anyway.

I think Zaitsev is projected to log more minutes than a 3rd pairing guy. He is likely ahead of Polak.

I wonder if he is going to need a haircut.

I am really sorry if this is repetitive, but now that "you know who" is not coming to Toronto, is there a list anywhere on this site or elsewhere that shows who is headed for UFA on Friday? Does anyone here feel strongly about any of them in terms of the Leafs? If anyone is able to respond...

If Buffalo signs him for $12 million I am sure the Leafs will still have the last laugh. I would love to have Stamkos, but I would not want anyone at that price.

I think there is a much better chance they finish in 30th overall than make the playoffs. Leafs, Yotes and Canes should battle for the basement all year.

And I think that watching this will be more exciting than watching the big team on the ice for the next couple of years. I might prefer a Marlies game this year over a Leafs game and I suspect I am not alone on that.

So, hypothetically speaking, you believe that if Nylander and Marner were not both prospects of the same team, that any GM would trade away Marner to get Nylander? I disagree, by some distance.

This got me thinking. I wonder what it would look like if we kept a list of the top 10 or top 20 prospects year over year for the next few years. It's no stretch to think that the quality in the next 2 - 3 years is going to go up a lot.
