    Goaltending conundrum

Reimer can be effective. It was a neck injure that gave concussion like symptoms. He should be 100% this year. Given the kings randsom they want for Luongo It is worth a try.

Agree need to wait until comes down in his demands.

    Luongo

According to a Vancouver blog leafs offered a player with a bad contract, a middle prospect and a late draft pick, but Vancouver wants a first. How about leafs offering an exchange of first picks either in 13 or 14?  Make the late round pick a mid round draft. So deal Louongo and Van. first to...

    Goaltending conundrum

First of all Boston is not going to trade Thomas to the leafs. Just because Thomas holds those views does not make him a racist.

This sucks - Burke is fiddling while Rome burns

If the next CBA does not restrict contracts to 5-6 years then to compete he willhave to accept that long term contracts are the way to go or he will lose the Kessels, the Gardiners, the Lupol and their better players.

This sucks - Burke is fiddling while Rome burns

Burke needs to recognize the reality of long term contracts if we are to compete in the league. We cannot compete if he does not accept that reality. We can trade three of our stockpiled prospects for a Getzlaf only to lose them to free agency because they were offered a long term contract by...

How about an offer sheet to Ryan OReilly

How about Benn from the stars is he one that you might risk a huge offer sheet for? Is there anyone this summer or next that would be worth the risk to sign an offer sheet for?

    Leafs offer for Bernier.......Or Not!

Word has it via the rumour mill leafs have had no contact with Kings re Bernier for several days.  There was some thought leafs might tarket Backstrom in Minnesota. Might be nothing more than talk. A might expensive!

How about an offer sheet to Ryan OReilly

Doubt they would get an advance given labor uncertainty.

Report: Shea Weber agrees to offer sheet with PHI (Dreger on twitter)

But does it not violate the intent of the cap. Suter and Parise are not getting a quater of the contract in the first year. I am sure NJ and Nashville could have matchedhad they been RFA's.

How about an offer sheet to Ryan OReilly

Another thing would be to approach Colorado and say what deal would you want for OReilly if we prepare an offer sheet. They may say we will match but here is what we will take for Stasny. My intention was to discuss and bring Burkes dislike with long term contract to a head using finacial clout...

How about an offer sheet to Ryan OReilly

In light of Shea Weber and given Burke does not like long term contracts to make a point on a impact player in a position they need why not offer OReilly a simmilar big deal! That would lead the league to change it to stop a growing trend. It might be worth 4 first round picks.  What do you think?

Report: Shea Weber agrees to offer sheet with PHI (Dreger on twitter)

I hope the NHL rejects this contract as it vilates the intent of the Salary Cap with the huge upfront money. Especially when that was the reason for the salary cap to protect the small market teams. This is different than the Suter and Parise contracts because of the upfront money. It could tilt...

    Goaltending conundrum

Look at how a goalie plays and think if you had a neck injury that was not 100%. Riemer did great in 10-11 season. He will be great.

    Is Burke Handicapping Himself?

Great article in Burke's job as Gm mfreedman "Do the Leafs Have A Plan?" on Hockey Buzz. I think he is right on with Burke's job. Burke may have over paid for Kessel and he is very careful not to repeat by overpaying and taking on a big and or bad contract.

    Goaltending conundrum

I think Reimer can be a starter in the NHL. The type of injure he had would be a handicap for a goalie. Plus the second year is always harder for a goalie. He will bounce back. As far as the leafsthey will improve. They need to concentrate more on a#1 center. Burke has slowly built the team up...

Sather should know he made the Gretzky trade.

    Rick Nash potentially available

This sage has gone on too long. We have GM who has forgotten the system. A player is being traded. You ask for offers and take the best and maybe tweek it a little. This has gone on counting trade deadline 8 weeks. His demands are absurd. He is asking for more than Edmonton got when they traded...

    Is Burke Handicapping Himself?

To sign a player like Lupol and or Kessel to a long term contract does not make him out as a hypocrite. He may not like or agree but I think he will come to realize that to compete you have to follow suit. Also if we continue to see these long term contracts if we get too many it will start to...

    Is Burke Handicapping Himself?

I agree with Burkes sentiments but the reality is to get any good players and or keep the Kessels he must accept the reality of the situation. I believe that he must accept them until the CBA is changed. Maybe the new CBA will limit contracts to 5 years. Another thing that  they could do...
