2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I was just listening to the pre game show on tsn1050 in the car and I'm not sure who was talking but you'd think they were tuning up for the playoffs and gearing up for a long run by saying stuff like 'they are in the market for a top end forward and top end defender'. Sure Jan.

    Canadian Federal Election 2025

I never thought of it that way. That does seem plausible.

    Canadian Federal Election 2025

I'm honestly shocked pollievre was reaffirmed as leader of the Canadian alliance.

Except Kekalainen hasn't really done anything yet.

I'm pretty sure it was Nonis-Lamoriello-dubas. Fletcher was after JFJ I think so I got that timeline wrong.

    Kraken vs. Leafs - Jan. 29th, 10:00pm - SN

He's never played more than 34 games in a season and has a very clear injury history and still had a year left on his contract. There's no justification or rush to give him 4 years. Do we think that from ages 33-37 he's going to have less injuries? And somehow play 40-50 games a season? So...

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Yeah I'm not against that at all. I'm just saying that'll likely be Pridham until they finish begging Zito to come to the leafs... Which he won't. To be honest, nonis actually did ok with the selloff. Then Fletcher went all old man Simpson on the franchise.

Trump: I'm going to decertify all Canadian made planes. Sure Jan.

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Just a random thought here but almost every gm the leafs have had since McNamara never got another NHL gm position, other than Fletcher, Lamoriello and Dubas. I didn't double check this though. And I'm pretty sure this will be Treliving's last NHL gm job.

Good thing he's got a 4 year extension that hasn't even kicked in yet. Another unforced Treliving error.

The problem is you're not going to get a quality gm mid season. I want Treliving gone too, but realistically someone internal would fill the position until the off season.

    Sabres @ Leafs - Jan. 27th, 7:00pm - TSN4

I get the idea but how can Treliving fire 2 coaches in less than 3 years? If anything is rather Treliving be shit canned and let Berube ride out the rest of this list season and let the new guy decide what's next

2025-26 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

Trading Marner was not in Treliving's control. I don't blame him for that. I know Marner leaving was most likely a forgone conclusion, but the way Treliving handled it was terrible. But that's not why I think he's a terrible GM. It's all the other terrible moves he's done. People forget...

    What's wrong with Auston Matthews?

I'm sure he wants to win a cup. And of course I have no idea how he really is, but just watching him play and in interviews he is so vanilla and low key. Maybe in the room he's a leader. But nothing that I can see shows me that he should be captain, other than he's the most talented player on...

Probably have to trade McCabe. I think that's their best shot at a 1st round pick.

Don't they need to finish bottom 5 to keep their pick?
