I totally agree with that. However losing Marner for free without getting anything back will set them back a lot of years... and they don't have the 25,26 and 27 1st rounders to tank for.

Carolina got hammered again last night... despite games 5 & 7 being a total crap from the Leafs side, they manage to take them to 7 games... They should find a way to resign Marner or even a sign and trade, worst case scenario trade his rights to another team before UFA.
