    Leafs @ Ducks - Mar. 3rd, 10:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

I concur. This is about long term and I am sure they'll figure it out over time.

I highly doubt it, wouldn't be great odds in my mind. But who knows, maybe you'll be a prophet.

    Leafs @ Ducks - Mar. 3rd, 10:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

I think it's bad reads on Anderson's part. He seems to be backing in too soon, even when the attacker appears to be set to shoot, opening up too much space for them. Kopitar last night was just another example. Hopefully goalie coach can get him to make some adjustments by showing him videos. I...

    Leafs @ Ducks - Mar. 3rd, 10:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

Ducks are in a semi-comfortable spot, essentially battling Oilers for 2nd in division, but not in as dire straits as Leafs, so hopefully Leafs will be more motivated. After tonight, competition is more favourable next week, though no game can be taken lightly. I think Babcock has given looks to...

    Leafs @ Kings - Mar. 2nd, 10:30pm - SNO, TSN 1050

JVR needs to have a good night. He's been invisible or worse of late. He needs to be strong down the stretch and show leadership.

Just need a bounce back this period from the Ks

    Rangers @ Leafs - Feb. 23rd, 7:30 - SNO, TSN 1050

When he's on the puck, he has a real advantage because of his size, tough to move him. And, he's seemed to learn that now, good for the cycle with that 4th line, which is what you want, a 4th line that can wear the opposition d-men down when they are out there. Go Goatman!

    Rangers @ Leafs - Feb. 23rd, 7:30 - SNO, TSN 1050

One thing the Leafs have to clean up on in their own end is covering the points. Hasn't been too bad tonight, but in an awful lot of games they are getting burned by point men getting shots through that are getting deflected and going in. Anderson has been victim of a lot of deflections...

    Rangers @ Leafs - Feb. 23rd, 7:30 - SNO, TSN 1050

I think Leafs 4th line is much more effective with Gauthier in the middle over Smith. They had their hottest run of the season when Gauthier was centering that line, then he tailed off a bit and they sent him down when Smith came back. I think he's better than Smith already defensively and...

    Leafs @ Islanders - Feb. 6th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Big issue with the Leafs is they are not covering the points well except when penalty killing. And when you lose as many draws as they do that is going to kill you  Isles got way too many shots through from back there.

    Leafs @ Bruins - Feb. 4th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

Leafs played better with 5 d-men than they did with Marincin on ice.

    The Defensive Logjam

I guess I spoke too soon about Marincin playing better after injury. He had a couple of decent games, but quickly went down hill, especially last night. It seems consistency is what has plagued his career so far.

Leafs claim Marchenko off waivers, waive Corrado

Here is what the Hockey News has to say about him... Assets Has an excellent frame (6-3, 210 pounds), plus plenty of puck-moving ability from the back end. Plays with poise with the puck on his stick and owns good hockey sense. Flaws: Is not physically imposing, which negates his size advantage...

    The Defensive Logjam

I think Marincin has played a lot better since coming back from injury and being used regularly with higher minutes since Rielly's been out. Seems to have helped his confidence. It seems entirely likely the Leafs might move a couple of d-men out at the trade deadline for picks, Polak, Hunwick...

    Nazem Kadri

Just a PS...on the lines. I think Martin and Sosh seem to have better chemistry with Freddie The Goat than with Smith, hard to seem him getting back in the lineup barring injury. They seem to do a much better job of hemming the opposition in.

    Nazem Kadri

Nice to see Kadri racking them up, hitting some milestones, 100 goals as a Leaf, 20 goals tying record for season, with still almost half a season left to play. He should top 30. What has been remarkable this year is the consistent scoring from three lines deep. Hyman 7, Matthews 22, Brown 11 =...

    Leaf UFAs and trade deadline.

Even given this quite a bit of though over the past few days. I think at the most, the Leafs tinker by adding another defenceman, probably in the 4-6 range, just a slight upgrade on what they have now. They stand pat until at least the summer, and maybe longer. There is no urgency around the...

    Leaf UFAs and trade deadline.

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't been on in a while and only checked out the first page of topics. I will keep that in mind though.

    Leaf UFAs and trade deadline.

Whom of the Leaf UFAs coming up over the next year or two would you consider offering another contract to? Perhaps none of them? But if you did, how much and how long. Here are my thoughts: JVR, 27: Obviously if you could get the right d-man, he would bring the most in return. But 30-goal guys...

Leafs 2016/2017 Schedule in 10 game chunks

Leafs have been playing better on back-to-backs. Habs just added Gallagher to their walking wounded. Having loss twice to the Habs already this year in close matches, the young and improved Leafs won't let this opportunity slip by!
