In my mind, he is moving ahead of Sandin on defence depth chart.  Maybe not as offensively gifted, but isn't outmuscled and pushed off puck as much as Sandin. Come playoff time I think he will be the better option for what this team needs in a bottom pairing role.

Tavares lost his man on that face off, created 2 on 1 down low...not Campbell's fault there.  I do understand having Tavares out for d zone face off but his game is not well suited for 3 on 3 play and Keefe continues to roll him out there.

This was the season that we had the gravy route to a final 4. After watching a lot of other playoff hockey, I'm pretty certain the North was the weakest division.  This team is nowhere close to playoff success, and unfortunately I dont think they will be with the top heavy contracts handcuffing...

Too many mistakes, we didnt deserve this one. Sandin will not see ice again this series.  They need to play with a little more passion.

I like the fact that Engvall is in.  Personally, I would like to see Brooks is as well and sit Thornton.  Brooks would add a lot more speed to 4th line and another centre/PK option. Also, kind of strange Nash comes out in these circumstances.  Does that mean maybe they overestimated his game...

Nice looking lineup.  My only change would be Engvall in Thortons spot.  Concerned about his effectiveness at an up tempo playoff pace. Expect Mtl to come out hard and finish every check.

The strategic approach to 3 on 3 needs a little more attention on the defensive play/strategy to say the least, that's two in a row where Matthew's gets beat by his guy .

Definitely a pricey trade, but it was probably no secret to Jarmmo that Foligno was Dubas's prime target and he made him pay for it. Would have liked to think a 2nd and 4th should have got this deal done. This might be the last chance for Dubas if Leafs don't make it out of 1st round this year.

In general I think he needs to shelter Tavares in 3 on 3 situations against the speedier players.

I really don't understand Keefe always starting Tavares in 3 on 3, especially when he is forced to keep up to McDavid on that much open ice.

That's how he played a good part of last season.  You notice his speed since there hasn't been much from others (except Mikheyev). I would put Engvall in over Vesey any game. Like him better on pk too.
