That bugs me as well. There was zero push back on Bennett, Gudas and Tkachuk who knew they could get away with taking runs at our star players (and anyone else). Its never a good thing when you have only one forward (Accari) who poses any kind of physical threat.

Wow, finally a game where they seemd to play with purpose for a full 60 mins, I have nothing really to complain about other then a couple Gio giveaways one late shift that almost cost them.

None of the lines could generate any sustained offence and the only forward who takes the body regularly is Accari.  Last years model was more dangerous.

If Gio actually sits, it was long overdue.  You can only be so loyal to a veteran dman who stopped moving his feet and cant deal with the forecheck. Also looking to see if Tavares actually stays at centre this game or if they make adjustments and put him on wing with O'Reilly. If he has another...

And Reilleys complete inability or refusal to ever shoot the one timer is not helping things either.

Not so sure about going 11-7 but would be in favour of bringing Gustafsson into the fold and booting Gio to the press box. Gustafsson would give PP a differnet look and Gio had been struggling to move the puck all playoffs with the up tempo  pace of play and should not be on the ice as a lone PP...

Gotta love his size, abilty to block shots and on occasion bury someone into boards, but such a polarizing guy with inconsistency in his game and decision making.

I would hope to see a little less of 55 or at least put him out there with a mobile partner like Brodie when they feel a need to play him.  Sure he does block a lot of shots but wouldnt have to if he didnt keep reversing puck and turning it over.

It looks like they wisened up at the end and had Brodie Reilly paired together the last couple shifts. I wonder if we might see that next game also since Reilly has not looked good at all in his own end when paired with Schenn.

Gio is so slow

Tampas speed and forechecking has been hard all night and it really has exposed some of the not so mobile Leafs that cant make the plays under pressure or skate the puck to safety.

Yeah not loving the pk and pk personnel against Tampa. Accari plays it pretty passively.  Honestly we had better pk speed and depth against Tampa last year with guys like Mikheyev, Kase & Engvall.

True, but those pucks need to get out....there have been way too many by Schenn or Holl that were almost cleared but knocked down by a Bruin dman.
