Babcock needs to start trusting some different personnel on PK.  His insistence on overplaying Polak, Hainsy and Hyman cost them that last goal...they were gassed.

It's still early to assess but so far Plekanec hasn't showed me that he is going to be much of an upgrade over Moore.  In fact a couple poor defensive plays stick out in my mind.

I've seen enough of Bozak on PP. In fact, i've seen enough of Bozak period.

As much as I like the grit that Polak and Borgman bring, they just seem a tad slow for the speed of the game right now.

Valiev doesn't get seem to get any mention for those spots, but I really liked what I saw from him against the Sens. He has good size and reach, smooth skater with mobility, seems very poised with the puck and seems to make smart plays.  I hope he is given a fair chance as well since I see a lot...

They need to find a way to at least get one of Kapanen or Soshinikov into lineup full time.  They are both excellent forecheckers and can play valuable pk minutes. Yes, you will argue that Moore and Marleau will do the same, but i see youthfulness as an asset in providing a more effective and...

I'm actually a little shocked, maybe puzzled by this one.  I would have to think they are shopping one or both of Bozak or JVR.  I count 16 competent forwards now that should be playing next season if you include Soshinikov, Kapanen and Leivo...seems like a bit of a log jam up front. I like the deal.  Sure a 7 year term is a bit of a gamble, but so is a 2 year term and him overachieving and deserving far more then 4.5 per.  One thing is for sure, his skating and mobility are elite which will allow him to be a very effective dman thru the duration of contact.

100% agree here.  Carriick had a great season as a 22 yr old, has a lot more upside and possesses a physical element to his game.  He seem to wear down a bit at the end of season, but who knows he may of been dealing with injuries or just not used to the grind of full season yet.

Comparing save percentages is such a subjective thing since it doesn't account for the quality of the scoring chances.  Let's face it, we don't have an air tight d-core and they consistently give up a high number of quality chances, I would safely guess far more then the Ducks do.

A big dissapointment for me so far has been JVR.  As one of our few skilled forwards with size, he just doesn't seem willing to try to elevate his game which I thought would be well suited for playoffs.  He hasn't been skating like he can or using his size at all.  As far as I'm concerned...

This team is clearly running on fumes right now.  I mean 6 games in 9 nights to finish the season? Who makes up this bs schedule anyway? It's certainly not doing us any favours.
