So, hypothetically speaking, you believe that if Nylander and Marner were not both prospects of the same team, that any GM would trade away Marner to get Nylander? I disagree, by some distance.

This got me thinking. I wonder what it would look like if we kept a list of the top 10 or top 20 prospects year over year for the next few years. It's no stretch to think that the quality in the next 2 - 3 years is going to go up a lot.

So you would not have Harrington in your top 5 D prospects?

I do not expect the Leafs to give us much to cheer about over the next two years, unless you like Tank Nation type cheering. What we can get excited about is the prospects, which over time is going to be a longer and deeper list for sure. I'm wondering if people with better knowledge and...

Whether you or I argue that he would poison the team is sort of irrelevant at this point. In analyzing this trade you have to accept that Shanahan did not want him and obviously Babcock did not want him around either. On top of that, it appears that they really only had one serious trading...

Thanks.

What would his status be in one year?

Maybe not strictly speaking due to the teardown, but they also landed Zach Hyman (signed a two-year deal today) from Florida for McKegg. A primary reason that they got him was because he thinks he is ready to play in the NHL and Florida didn't agree - the Leafs need people to fill spots so they...

Even better. Thanks.

I wonder..... is the 2nd rounder that the Leafs gave up in 2016 their own 2nd rounder or the one they owned from the Pens for Winnick?

I am very happy that he is gone. The return is better than I was expecting as of last Friday, so that is decent. I think Phil will start the season with a bang and perhaps he will do well, but I won't lie, I am counting on him being a streaky scorer who sometimes thrills Pens fans and other...

Kadri is the guy that I think will benefit most from Babcock. I am looking forward to seeing if he takes a step forward in the next year or so or if what we have seen so far is all there is to see.

Some quotes from Mike Babcock today that make me a happy Leafs fan: "The number one characteristic of a Toronto Maple Leaf is a good human being. If you don't fit that, you're not going to be here." "Anything that's been going on is going to get cleaned up. We're going to be a fit, fit team. A...

Getting closer to a pretty exciting time for the Leafs with picks 61, 65 and 68. Go Mark Hunter!

I just called Rogers and used some reward points to add the NHL network so now I am cooking with gas.  ;D

Where can I watch Rounds 2 through 7 online? I do not currently get the NHL Network channel and I am thinking about changing that right now, but if it is available online then that works too. Does anyone know?

The Maple Leafs sent out a communiqu? last week indicating any team wanting to talk trade should go through assistant GM Kyle Dubas. This led to speculation maybe Dubas would be elevated to the full-time GM position, but that appears premature. Director of player personnel Mark Hunter is...

The 7th rounder only comes into play if the Leafs do not sign Hyman. In other words, it won't come into play. They already were granted permission to start speaking to him yesterday and it sounds like he wants to come so.....

?They?re going to get a kid that bleeds blue and white, and understands the tradition of the Maple Leafs and who has always dreamed of being a Maple Leaf,? said Stuart Hyman. ?He?ll be proud to wear that uniform. Star Article

That depends on when and how often you sleep. The traditional number, however, is 7 and I am looking forward to it.  :)
