Yet I thought (with the exception of last season) that generally the 2022-2023 iterations of the Leafs were strong defensively they just never got the credit for it that the underlying numbers suggested.

But almost all the top playoff teams are also great possession teams. Part of why Florida beat the Leafs is they had the puck the vast majority of the time and anytime the Leafs had it all they could do was ice it or dump it out to centre.

Small players like Matthew Knies? Or is Jake Muzzin one of those? Reality is that Dubas was never all about any one type of player. He brought in and traded both types of players throughout his tenure.

Coming out of retirement to say that's as thorough a dismantling as I can remember the Leafs doing.  Maybe the Sens in one of those playoff series in the early 2000s.

I figured it's been long enough that the heat is off and I can sneak back in unnoticed.

I can't speak for other games, but holy man the calls in Leafs games all year have seemed brutal.

Goat is great because it works on a couple levels of humour.
