Lupes is great. Chilled dude, have partied with him a couple times and he loves it here. He is very much treated as royalty, what's not to love? I hope he blossoms further and has several high scoring seasons now in his prime. He could easily become captain of this team.

Yah he looked really good last night. At times I saw what Carlyle said after - how had this guy never played a single game before? He is an NHL-ready player if there ever was one. Extraordinary positioning, and I didn't realize he played big as well at 6'2".

Has anyone seen this guy play enough to comment? Hope he does well tonight.

Anything resembling a repeat of last seasons performance could certainly secure face of the franchise status for Lupul. He has shown himself to be by far the most complete forward on the team and easily a top 10, even top 5 NHL player playing at his best.

We just needed a big body left shooting top six a lot more badly than we needed Schenn. I love Schenn. Wish we could have had them both.

He is awfully young still. An 89 baby. I'm prepared to be patient, but I think from his first couple shifts it will become apparent that we have not had a commodity like him lining up on the left wing for quite some time.

He has flown remarkably under the radar. Probably a product of his not really having put up serious point totals yet at NHL level, but that will change soon if he is put in the position to excel. Very soft hands and I love how he skates.

I think what may surprise some not familiar with his game is that he is actually a very offensively opportunistic player and is no stranger to scoring.

The point is that he is capable, but doesn't have to. Lupul, Kessel, JVR, Grabovski and possibly Kulemin, Kadri and Gardiner will emerge as on-ice catalysts on a nightly basis.
