I'll take winning the cup by a large margin.To get in the playoffs every year and then bowing out after one or two rounds would be very frustrating. Win the cup,dump the veterans for draft choices,watch the talent develop  then going for the cup again. Of course you need a great management...

I don't trust Kessel's work effort in the long run..He might go great initially in Pittsburg ,So I'll take this trade and see what the new players develop like under Babcock.

I'm thinking Nik the 1.2 million retained,could be peddled off in the future years on trades.We might see a lot of that with all the teams.

I think he,s worth a 2nd rounder and a very good prospect coming our way...however if someone wants to dump salary on us,then a 1st rounder is in order plus the same kind of prospect....I would say.

Value on Kessel would help if he could get in a conditioning program...He is easily a 40 goal scorer if he does get in great shape.

I think it's too early in his hockey development to put him at a 4th line potential.Big guys like him take longer to mature physically and to refine their game.

I would be all for trading them if they can get draft picks and prospects...Prospects can be a great way to fast forward a rebuild. But if they can't get value I can see them staying untill they do.

Getting Babcock is almost as good as getting McDavid.

A couple of sport columnists on channel 2 out of Detroit last night said if Babcock stays with Detroit,it will be like backing in to retain his old job.It's eating a little humble pie.They are guessing he'll go with Buffalo.

I still believe the Leafs have the best chance of getting Babcock...They are probably talking over who they are going to get as GM. There is no point of leaving Detroit otherwise...it will be the challenge of turning the biggest team in hockey into a winner...I can't see why he's stalling other...

This might be old news,but,the radio station out here is stating a 3rd round pick goes to Detroit if Babcock is signed by any team before July 1st.

In my view..I think Babcock is coming to the Leafs.To win a cup here would be like the top of the mountain.Why go anywhere else...this is the center of the hockey universe.
