Matthews and Nylander had a couple of chances but I think they were a bit out of sync that period.  Hoping they show some more in the 2nd period.  Marner looks good but seems like he passes too quick.  I'd like to see him carry it a bit more.

Yeah was going to say that's a pretty loaded preseason lineup.  And Nylander again?  That's 4 straight games.  Are they still testing to see if he can crack the team?

Yup have to agree.  Some bad passing and possession.  Not many high end plays except for Marner.  If he plays a few more games like this in the pre-season, I think he's earned himself a spot.  He's got the speed and drive to skate and I even saw him check a guy on a powerplay when Ottawa was...

He's also not going to be facing the same best-on-best competition either.  The WCH teams are probably better than most NHL teams.  So yeah, he'll play on a watered down lineup but also against watered down opponents as well.
