I think Soshnikov is a top 6 guy and at worse top 9 guy.  He has too much offensive ability to put on the 4th line.  I could agree with maybe Rychel but let's not forget, we need Martin's physicality in the lineup to do just what he did last night for Marner.  No one else except Polak brings...

I don't get how possession numbers are relevant for a defenseman who like Phaneuf is more of a defensive guy now versus offensive since he doesn't really skate it much up the ice.  His job is to just get the puck and push it up to the forwards.  Maybe I'm misunderstanding the way possession % is...

I hope this is the opposite of Bernier where he came in and looked decent then floundered.  Also I remember Belfour came in and was booed at when he first started because everyone thought he was too old or was a bad replacement for Cujo.  I'd give him 20 games before I pass judgement.
