So is there any news on who will take over as president? MLSE did the right thing handing over the executive roles to sports guys (Burke, BC) even if it blew up in their face. I hope they don't make Anselmi or some other non-hockey guy president.

Well, Hasek's career would suggest that you can go pretty far regardless of how erratic you play. For the record, I don't know what Cujo, or even Hasek, knows about fundamentals, but they didn't really seem to apply them terribly well. Does that make either one of them a bad coach? Not at all...

I don't know what Cujo knows about coaching goaltenders (maybe a lot) but he had such an unconventional, sloppy style, it's hard to believe he has a firm grasp of fundamentals.

No, but if the Leafs are trying to make the playoffs then throwing Bozak out on the top line again is probably not the right choice.

Grabovski's our best option for 1C, but that shouldn't change Burke's focus from acquiring a top line centre. I mean, the Leafs are far from contenders so I might be getting ahead of myself, but I just think you're not going to be a great NHL team with Grabbo getting top minutes.

Well, it's hard to see a way out to be honest for the top line centre. It's one of JVR, Connolly or Bozak - frankly, the options are terrible.

I could live without either of them, but two things to note; (i) the Leafs seem deadset on slotting JVR into the #1C position, and given their options I don't really blame them and (ii) would anyone really want Connolly? Even for a marginal playoff team, he doesn't offer a whole lot if he's not...

That's where we disagree CF, I think it's clear the Leafs aren't built for long-term success. They have a few guys with bright futures ahead of them, but system, while deep, doesn't have the high-end talent you would expect from a team languishing in mediocrity for the better part of a decade...

I'm not 100% sure I'm following but if you're arguing that limited success is no better than no success, then I'd be inclined to disagree.
