Not sure I agree with "repeatedly shows he can't handle." He was insanely good for long stretches last year, and only when he got injured did that let up. He obviously hasn't found his game yet this year, it happens sometimes. Roberto Luongo was a notoriously slow starter throughout his career...

He is the back-up. And he probably would be on most other teams in the league too. If he made it absolutely impossible to not start him, it's one thing, but he hasn't, and they clearly like Bernier's game better. It's like when the Leafs brought in Cujo, and swore Potvin would have every chance...

I think $3M for Reimer is high. I just can't see him being awarded that kind of cash. $2M, probably.

I think Bozak at least created some debate last year that he could stay in that No. 1 role. The way that line took off when he returned from injury was no fluke. I think I read somewhere that even the Corsi numbers supported the Bozak/Kessel chemistry this past season, after a couple of years...

I think Bernier is better, so I don't really care. I never saw Reimer as the "demand a trade" type before, though. Oh well.

I doubt Bozak is going anywhere. Carlyle loves him. And to be fair, he's still a pretty useful player.

I remain hopeful that the very talented and young group of Kessel, Bernier, JVR, Rielly can be built around.
