    1) Yes it does stop moves for a defenseman due to cap space. 2) JVR will put up better numbers than Marleau in each year of that contract.  Keeping JVR would be better than singing Marleau and trading JVR.

    William Nylander

    Richie has 14 goals and 28 points in his second year and bring a physical element Nylander doesnt.  This is selective 20-20.  What about the Tlusty over Chris Stewart?  The 2006 draft shows the opposite result.  The truth is the draft is a gamble.

    Thats the thing.  If the return will be similar or worse to what the Leafs got for Kessel or Phaneuf; then it isn't worthwhile.  30 goal scorers don't grow on trees.  It would be better to keep him then to ship him out for a draft picks and prospects.

    The leafs should trade Gardner for Trouba.  That being said the Winnipeg GM has shown he is willing to wait years for the right deal with kane.  This doesn't look good for Trouba who wants this done before the season starts.
