It's Joel Ward all over again...

http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2014/05/02/boston-strong-racist-reaction-after-subban-scores-game-winner/

that's just terrible. I don't like Subban much either, but it's because he's a hab, not because of his colour. This just makes me sick :-(
I am a big Pernell hater for various reasons, but would defend him to no end when it comes to this garbage. Nice that the Bruins came out and took a stand right away.
Sadly Donald Sterling is not alone......

What makes you so sure they're doing nothing?
Deep thoughts only worked for Jack Handy.

It's just that they are sitting on their butts doing nothing - plain and simple. Inaction, lack of urgency, and inability to act swiftly are systemic with the Leafs. That is the culture and sadly, there is no indication of change.

We dont do things like other teams....which is why we consistently under perform.

Making excuses as to why they have done nothing is equally frustrating.

Am I the only one who feels that Donald Sterling was framed by his girl friend? If so, why would she throw him under the bus like that? Who recorded the conversation?

His comments were insane and he shouldn't even own a basketball team with a such a view of African Americans.
His comments were insane - period. Lebron was being generous when he said there was no place in the NBA for this. There is no place for it anywhere.

Seems like he found the perfect match. Who needs eHarmony with magic like that! ;)

Chara, Keith, and Weber got the Norris noms. Interesting that Karlsson's 74 points isn't as impressive as it was a couple of seasons ago.
What? No Pernell? I can hear the hab fans running towards the NHL offices with pitchforks in hand!

Just as a side note - I googled the meaning of the name "Pernell" - It means "country bumpkin" lol

And we wait.....teams that let the coach go will fill their vacancy with the best available while the Leaf "No Vancancy" sign continues to flash outside of the Carlyle motel.

You do know there's absolutely nothing stopping the Leafs from interviewing potential candidates before they announce that Carlyle has been let go, right? If there's a guy out there that the Leafs really want, if that guy also wants to be the Leafs' head coach, he will be. Relieving Carlyle of his duties is really just a formality.
Of course I know. My issue is how the front office continues the course of waiting to take action. My preference is that they let it be known that the winds of change are blowing. That includes behind the bench, on the ice, in the front office, or the guy who fails to sell enough sushi at the concession stand. I would prefer some action. Who knows - if there is a coach who is really interested in a job here but one is not available, they may sign elsewhere before the Leafs decide to act. The world of secrecy can also not be in your favour....

It should be easy to spot us Leaf fans.....we are the ones with the bags over our heads.....but they are blue and white ones.  ;)

Yes one of his bunny out of the hat moves. Where is Jason now, taking pot shots at his garage door from 40 feet out?
Probably - I think that big contract we gave him included a new road hockey net and a fresh set of "showdown" target. ;D

I still have to respectfully disagree. In my opinion there is some low hanging fruit that can taken care of that could send an appropriate message. My frustration has always been the pace at which they make decisions (letting it fester too long sometimes). By no means do I expect the full plan and direction to be carved in stone or executed (sorry Randy - poor choice of words ;) in a couple of days but when things go off the rails they seem to wait far too long before addressing them.

Maybe I just need them to throw me a bone to indicate that they have not just created additional bloat in the front office. I also hope that they let Shanahan do what they have hired him to without too much red tape or interference.

How long is it going to take before he pulls the trigger and starts taking out the trash? Failure to take swift action will just be more of the same lack of urgency that somewhat defines the problem with the MLSE "culture". To heck with respect for the playoffs, league, or players feelings - giddy up Shanny!
