DarrenDreger: Pending league approval, Pavel Kubina has been traded to Philadelphia.

LeBrun is saying it's for a pair of picks.

Yeah, saw that. Problem with that is that the Flyers need to clear a reserve list spot to add Kubina, and this trade clearly does not do that.

Hmmm... Something else happening?

Either that, or the return Kyper is reporting is incomplete or inaccurate.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Second-round pick and fourth-round pick for Kubina

Still need to do somethign about that reserve list spot, unless CapGeek's list is wrong.

They are not done. Have to shed a contract.

Capgeek also has Philly ~$500K over the cap with Kubina. There's more going on here, that's for sure.

hey why didn't Kubina invoke a no trade clause?  I thought he was against deadline deals.

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Flyers traded the conditional 2nd-rounder they got from Florida in Versteeg deal plus 2013 4th-rounder (in exchange for Kubina)

He gave the GM 5 teams he would accept a trade to. Then it is in Stevie's hand to get his best deal.

I know, but Capgeek takes that into account with their numbers.

Clearly, he's open to being moved when he's a UFA in the summer, but not in situations where he wasn't.
