Looks like he was trying to John Tavares* it on the back half of his PP shift while the other guys changed, tried to spring Timmins who had no speed, and then tripped over a skate.

* 1v3 to open up space for teammates, but usually results in a blueline turnover

So on the Jarnkrok penalty at the end of the 3rd, to those that paid closer attention to tell me if I'm off here.

Jarnkrok Was the lead player against the boards, the jets player came from behind and got tangled, and then fell. This doesn't seem like tripping to me.

I'm only bringing it because in leafs talk they were going on about what a boneheaded play that was for Jarnkrok. But I don't see it that way, I'm not sure how he could have played it differently.

Looks to me like he tripped himself over the skate(splash) so that he could have a lay down and then a lean against the boards.

I agree, but circumstances and human psychology came into effect. Jarnkrok lost positioning and stopped skating/reached while his check had a bit more momentum and conveniently fell over. Jets knew the PPs were 5-0 and just started falling at the slightest contact (see Samberg diving into the boards like a dashcam recording of someone backing up into a car on the highway).

I also thought it was a weak call. Understandable, but weak. Just two players getting tangled up trying to get a loose puck.
